Thank you so much for allowing me to assist you at the Ft. Lewis Newcomer's Orientation this morning. I thoroughly enjoyed the activity where so many people were anxious to receive the information you provide on behalf of the Lakewood Chamber's members who participate in this program. Being the spouse of a retired soldier made me mindful of the importance of having civilian communities reach out to our military families when they arrive at a new base in another state or even a new country! I never experienced anything like this morning's event in the 23 years my husband was in the Army. You could see the pleasure in the eyes of the families as they were told, "Welcome" time and again.
